In October 1990, Dunfermline Athletic signed midfield maestro Billy Davies from Leicester City for the not inconsiderable fee then of 165,00 pounds. On his home debut, Billy had a stinker. Passes went astray, and he looked a few yards off the pace. The manager turned to his assistant in the dugout and muttered a few words in his ear. Some wag from the crowd, (referring to Billy’s footballing brother John) bellowed out “You know what you’ve done? You’ve signed the wrong brother”
I wonder how many Labour Party members are waking up this morning witnessing the bitter tear-stained face of David Miliband’s partner, Louise Shackleton, and are thinking the same thing .
Just a thought.
