Commercial Script Synopsis:

A steely, sexy, female voice introduces us to the year 2011. The world is under the tight grip of government organisation known as “Dark Light” dealing with water distribution for the entire planet. We follow a car on a dark road as the distant sound of a security breach stops audiences settling in. On top of all this are the voices of two men talking – tough men – in a large plush office. A rough hero confronting an uptight suit. The car pulls up – the sound of machine gun fire – they are security. Our hero is out of time. But he has the answer to everyone’s problems – RUSTY CAGE LAGER!

About Production:

Filming will take place this week, a more specific schedule can still be worked out. Filming should take just one day as the commercial is 59 seconds in length. It’s a homage project, my homage is to the inspirational John Carpenter and as such the character of CRAVEN is in the vain of Kurt Russell mixed with Roddy Piper’s Nada and Darwin Joston’s Napoleon Wilson from “Escape From New York”, “They Live” &  “Assault on Precinct 13”. HAUK is a literal steal of the character HAUK from “Escape From New York”. How can you resist the temptation to kick ass like Kurt Russell?

HAUK: Male

Anywhere from early 20’s or older (especially for the character HAUK)

CRAVEN: Any kind of fit build, not too short or too tall.

HAUK: Slimmer than our hero

I’m not being too specific on this one, whoever feels they really want to take on the roles, I just want to see enthusiasm, a good attitude, show me why you think you can make it work. Come as you are with your talent and I am more than happy to work with you – I don’t want to not give talented people the opportunity due to a few insignificant complications.

What the Role asks for:

It’s a very short piece, it comes across as over the top but I want the piece to look high-tech and serious so I would ask actors to play the roles straight and it’s really keeping in line with Carpenter’s undermining of right wing society, problems with authority and paranoia, all about creating a heavy atmosphere with as little as possible. So we need a hard ass and a slimy corporate bad guy – it should be a lot of fun!

*** Thank you all for taking time to read this, I hope I’ve sparked some enthusiasm and I apologise for it being so short notice – but any help is very much appreciated I look forward to working with whomever is interested, it’s great for your showcase and we can even work again in the future – thanks for reading! ***
