UWS Knowledge Transfer Video To Be Screened Today At “Knowledge Links For Business” Dumfries
I’m travelling to the UWS Crichton Campus in Dumfries today to a Knowledge Links For Business workshop at the Ashton Hotel .It will be the first public screening of our UWS Contemporary Screen Acting student’s KTp marketing video for Cream O Galloway organic farm . I have blogged in the past about the University Of The West Of Scotland’s Knowledge Transfer projects under the auspices of South Of Scotland Business Solutions.
In these three month long projects,
In our innovative new Screen Acting Programme, Work Based Learning for screen acting students is embedded through an authentic relationship with a commercial client. The first of these projects is coming to fruition with the creation of this new Web Video marketing the Findlay family firm, Cream O’ Galloway. COG is a family run Organic Farm and Ice Cream manufacturer who are at the cutting edge of sustainability and the progressive treatment of animals. http://www.creamogalloway.co.uk/
COG welcome over 60,000 patrons a year to their amazing Visitors Centre on the shores of Wigton Bay, and amongst their plans are a 1.8 million pound state of the art milking barn for their herd of organically reared cows and calves.
Over the past three months, our team of performance students from the Contemporary Screen Acting Programme at UWS have been travelling down to the Galloway coast for a series of research and production visits, armed with cameras and sound equipment,
They shot hours of material, both on location and in our Ayr studios , and today a rough-cut of the video will be shown for the first time at the Knowledge Links For Business workshop in Dumfries. Once our client Wilma Finlay of COG had OKayed the video we’ll be launching it online next month. I’ll whet your appetite by showing a few stills from COG.See below .
The two other Knowledge Transfer projects with Dumfries and Galloway SMEs ABC Recruitment and ACAD are going on apace. Final shooting of the two projects is taking place this week at our UWS Studios in Ayr, and once the post production process is finished, all three projects will be online by the end of June .
I’ll blog more news as it happens
