CONGRATULATIONS go to Cheryl Belcourt, the WCA Assistant Co-ordinator, who is now the  official WCA Script Editor.  Cheryl won the Best Screenwriter category at the  WCA Screenings & Awards night and has worked with the writers to develop both winning scripts from the WCA short script competition prior to production, and this alongside her personal commitments on other projects.  WCA are delighted to have her onboard and look forward to working on further scripts, projects and initiatives with Cheryl in the future Star

 Following on the fantastic popularity and success of both initiatives  launched last year, the 2nd WCA short script competition will open for submissions from Jan 2012, deadline March 2012 tbc and the next WCA Screenings & Awards night is scheduled later than this years, to September 2012 submissions details tbc.  These later dates are to allow time, not only for the volume of production WCA has undertaken to be completed, but for personal projects to get underway, and new initiatives to be developed – watch this space!  

 WCA is starting a Talent Bank that we can source when productions are getting underway.  The exact structure is currently being developed but there will be a credit rating as you get involved in projects so you can build up a portfolio of work with us.  Apart from skills WCA  will be looking for qualities such as reliability and initiative.  So, if you want to be listed on our Talent Bank, send Linda Campbell at your   c.v. or list of what you’ve done – from being an extra or runner right through to Principal Crew, what area you want to work in (this can be several) contact details of email and tel/mobile  Also if you have own equipment e.g. sound, make-up, transport etc or specialist skills e.g. set building, storyboarding etc then let us know.  AVAILIBILITY wether it’s weekends or through the week.  This especially applies to people who have already or are currently working with us –
