Casting Call for short film ‘Killing Time’

Killing Time is a steam punk, sci-fi comedy romance about obsession and time. Auditions for our three main characters are being held in Edinburgh 10th & 11th August. We’re looking for the following actors of any ethnicity or accent:

Professor Theophilus Carter (30s):

Theo is a gangly, good-looking science geek who is obsessed with making his beautiful time machine work. He’s socially inept, nervous around women, yet a genius in his field. Think Richard Ayoade in the ‘IT Crowd’ or Benedict Cumberbatch in ‘Sherlock’. If you’ve stand-up comedy or comedy acting experience and know how to work an audience with your own natural charisma, apply now!

Doctor Nick Goody (30s):

Nick is Theo’s best friend, colleague and side-kick, as well as his only remaining link to the big wide world outside the lab. The world with girls in and dates and socialising. That’s not to say Nick is a success in any of these fields, he’s just as much a loser as Theo in that respect. The difference is, he tries. Often with frightening consequences. If you’re a comedy actor who can play Watson to Theo’s Sherlock with a liberal dash of Stephen Mangan in Green Wing, apply now!

Doctor Michael Kepler (30s):

Michael is the new girl in the lab. She is hip and sardonic with lashings of brains and beauty. And confusingly a boys name. Her pretty head containing clever things, stuck on a woman’s body, a single woman’s body, causes quite a stir, which is not limited to the living occupants of the lab – Nick and Theo. The time machine has a few opinions of her own on the subject. If you’ve great comic timing and the wit and wherewithal to make time itself jealous, apply now!
