Claire Dow Of The Playwrights Studio , Scotland has sent me  the following details of their Screenwriting Residences Scheme

They’re  offering some mentoring over three residential weekends to writers who want to write a feature film. They must have some experience of the business of screen, so could have worked in TV or on short films and have a feature film burning away inside them.

Screenwriting Residencies – Apply Now!

Applications are now open for our Screenwriting Residencies, offering writers the opportunity to develop a specific feature film script.

Participants will work with high level experienced mentors, including mentor tutors from Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam. There will be three residential meetings with writers enjoying the time to work on their film between meetings.

There will also be two public events with seminal speakers from the film world to inspire writing for screen in Scotland. Participants in the Screen Writing Residency will take part in master classes with those seminal speakers.

Screen writing Residencies are supported by Creative Scotland’s Creative Futures. Creative Futures’ is an ambitious programme of residencies and related activities designed to promote the professional development, vision, connectivity and ambitions of Scotland’s creative practitioners and organisations. It is the largest co-ordinated residency programme in Europe, and includes residencies that are single discipline, interdisciplinary, cross sectoral and international.
