Write Camera Action, the Glasgow based film cooperative are very excited to put out a cast call for a short film adapted from the runner up of their short script competition, ‘Where’s Wilbur’. This is a first short fiction production from a highly experienced documentary filmmaker who wishes to cast from the fantastic pool of talent she’s observed over the years at WCA! The resulting 3 min short will be a high quality film for festival entry and excellent showreel footage for all involved.
This is a no fee production but a fantastic opportunity for a quality showreel piece and excellent contacts. Email with any headshots, c.v. or relevent info and what time on the date below an audition would suit. Audition piece will be sent with audition time. N.B. Parents/Guardians/Teachers with genuine enquiry call 07716658896. It is likely the main role of Abigail will be instrumental in sourcing her ‘schoolfriends’ and be a fun introduction to filmmaking for the lucky cast.
CAST REQ’D – AUDITION DATE Mon 20th August at CCA between 5 – 7pm and between 8 – 9pm
N.B. The key role of Abigail will require a parent/guardian chaperone for the shoot date and rehearsal, and scheduling will accomodate school dates
Abigail: Five years old; intelligent, inquisitive and determined (AGE RANGE 5-8 but must look approx 5)
Janice: Abigail’s mother, late 30s. A spirited high flier with aspirations of sophistication, struggling with the demands of
work, motherhood and an acrimonious divorce
Ernest: Abigail’s workaholic father, late 30s. In his family life he is laid-back, indulging Abigail to compensate for his frequent absence.
Has little concept of the pressures faced by Janice
Sean: One of Abigail’s classmates. Plain-speaking and a little rough around the edges
Claire: Another member of Abigail’s class. Seems to be lost in space … or perhaps she’s just taking it all in
Possible Extras: primary school children in the playground or providing background noise for playground scene
